HD - High-Definition
HD-MAC - High-Definition – Multiplexed Analogue Component
1080p/50 - 1080 lines, progressive scan, 50 Hz
720p/50 - 720 lines, progressive scan, 50 Hz
LCD - Liquid Crystal Display
CRT - Cathode Ray Tube
DLP - Digital Light Processing.

MC - Multi-Channel
PMC (EBU) - Production-technology Management Committee
SD - Standard-Definition
SMPTE - Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (USA)

BMC (EBU) - Broadcast-technology Management Committee
CCD - Charge-Coupled Device
CMOS - Complementary Metal-Oxide Semiconductor
DCT - Discrete Cosine Transform
